Types Of Water Closet

Water Closet is the plumbing fixture that carries out human excreta.
It disposes of human liquid and solid waste, by using water to flush it through a drainpipe to another location for disposal, thus maintaining a separation between humans and their excreta. The sanitary fixture is distinctly different from a urinal, which is designed to handle only liquid waste. They can also be called flush toilet, Lavatory, Loo but a few names.

Types Of Water Closets. There are generally two types of Water Closets:

1.Eastern Water Closets
This is a toilet used by squatting, rather than sitting. There are several types of squat toilets, but they all consist essentially of toilet pan or bowl at floor level. Such a toilet pan is also called a "squatting pan". The only exception is a "pedestal" squat toilet, which is of the same height as a sitting toilet

A squat toilet may use a water seal and therefore be a flush toilet, or it can be without a wateseal and therefore be a dry toilet. The term "squat" only refers to the defecation posture and not any other aspects of toilet technology, such as whether it is water flushed or not.
The ideal posture for defecation is the squatting position, with the thighs flexed upon the abdomen. In this way the capacity of the abdominal cavity is greatly diminished and intra-abdominal pressure increased, thus encouraging the expulsion of the faecal mass thus this is the best type of water closet healthwise.

2.Western Closet
This is simply a flushing toilet and found in many homes. It is used by sitting after which the wastes are flushed down the drains. There are different types of these available for you in the market. They come as one piece where the cistern is attached to the bowel and also two-piece with the bowel separeted from the cistern.

The sitting toilet is more comfortable, especially for the old, weak ,obese and handicapped, than the squat toilet that billions of people in Asia, Africa, Middle East and some parts of Europe use.
